Head scratcher. Two other data points, again raised by Larry: 1. Number of Frets Up the Neck. On my 2001 000-15S with its modified low oval neck, 1 3/4" width at the nut, and 2 1/4" width at the 12th fret, the McKinney will work up to and including the 7th fret, the Kat Eyz up to and including the 5th fret.I got a Kat Eyz capo a few weeks back. Have been really loving it except for one thing. On my CEO-7 (first photo - no volute, and a sort of gradual transition behind the nut from neck width to headstock), I can leave the capo on for as long as I want to play or leave the guitar on a stand or in it's case.IMHO, with capos, less is more. The problem is that many people put their capo on much too tightly. With their capo, some people actually press the strings all the way down past the fret's crown so the strings touch the fretboard.
